JESTER'S WORLD

WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!

Everything you see here is a massive WIP! If you'd like to reach out to me, I'm active under @entomolojest on bsky and discord.

To-Do List
in no particular order...

  • Finish my about page
  • Structure art/writing page
  • Structure OC page (wiki-like?)
  • Make a template for journals and blog posts
  • Begin gathering links to other sites + helpful resources
  • Create and find assets for decoration
  • Write my first blog post!

Changelog: 9/30/25

I'm liking the new "pill" type look I've got going on: the header, footer, and sidebars no longer float! The blog/journal got the same treatment and a small overhaul behind the scenes. It took forever but I did figure out how to put boxes in a flex wrapper to make neat little side-by-sides like you see above.

And sorry, but I won't fix the left sidebar refusing to sticky on the blog page. It's going to be ugly! Just remember the alternative is worse!

Changelog: 9/27/25

Big updates! Do you like what I've done with the place? It's about time I got color on this page! Since my last edit, I've learned a lot about grid/flexbox and nesting divs, which I was doing poorly. This entire site structure is a single grid without a container, so its stability can be argued but ehhh. Future me can handle it (sorry). I gave up on the 11ty blog thing and I'll do it manually btw. It's not worth the troubleshooting LOL

If you check out the sidebar under "_personal", you'll see a journal and a blog. I decided to split them so I could have a space for shorter, reflective entries vs. lengthy blog posts about whatever I have to complain about. I also didn't want to bite off more than I could chew, so shrines, the guestbook, and radio will come at a much, much later date.

Oh and my current placeholder backgrounds are from spongebob title cards lol.

Changelog: 9/25/25

I started adding to my credits page before I got tired and realized I don't have to do it all in one sitting! Uughh I'm going to have too many helpful resources to put my links page :( I'll chip away at it.

Still no headway on the site aesthetic direction, but I did get my hands on the upscaled S3 assets from Spriter's Resource for a little decoration. I might go in a y2k old web sort of direction, we'll see. Oh also, links and images are getting a little more "flair" thanks to hover.css— try it for yourself and see what moves!

Side tangent: I think I'm using too many br tags. I could make a bunch of p variations, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there (AKA so late it's too obnoxious to fix).

Changelog: 9/24/25

I've made big changes to the backend handling of the site since my last update. It took two days and a lot of fiddling, but 11ty is up and running beautifully. I no longer have to edit sidebars on every page for a minor change! Navigation will be lacking for a bit, so please use the sitemap to get around.

Smaller changes include cleaning up the site's grid structure with my new knowldge! (it's still pretty rough though lol) The main body and sidebars keep their size and expand with media, instead of shrinking without it. This is much better than my "make a transparent image to keep the body full width" solution.

Next, I'd like to tackle 11ty's blog tools so I can start sharing my thoughts while I procrastinate on decorating. I don't have the energy to search for the perfect background and figure out floating images again. Eugh.

Head's up, things may be hard to read, off-center, or broken! This website was made for desktop, and while there are mobile friendly elements, it's not my focus.

:) thank you
